Surprised by Hope

If there is one book that I would want every Christian (but particularly every Christian minister, preacher or teacher) to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest, it is this one. Theology just doesn’t get any more thrilling than this. It is subtitled “Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection and the Mission of the Church” and in it, with surgical skill, Tom Wright cuts through all the confused, haphazard and often downright erroneous speculation and conjecture that passes nowadays for Christian orthodoxy on these topics. With breath-taking clarity and precision, he uncovers the Biblical truth that lies at the root of all Christian doctrine concerning “the future” and offers us a completely Scriptural and wholly convincing description and explanation of life after death, heaven, the second coming, the resurrection of the dead, the last judgment, hell, the world to come, and all related matters. I simply cannot recommend it highly enough. You can buy it from Amazon for £9.09 (paperback) by clicking here.
