Your blog caught my eye because of the reference to Edwin Hatch's hymn, Breathe on Me, Breath of God. (Today is the anniversary of his birth in 1835, and I keep track of such things on my daily blog, Wordwise Hymns.)

I do want to commend you on a fine piece of writing. (Hope a book is planned!) It is a blessing to be reminded that God is in the transformation business, and is able to give beauty for ashes (Isa. 61:3). God bless.

Thank you for a great posting on these verses. I do a daily bible study quoting from different commentators, however none of them touched on the breath of God. I found your post and added it - I hope you don't mind:
http://studygodsword.wordpress.com/august-21-2009-genesis-175/

I quoted it from you and linked in your website.

Let me know if that's a problem
Thanks
Tania

Neil.... I am going through a job change that I find quite anxiety provoking.... or at least the anxiety is trying to come in to knock me around.

I am reminded by your post that God is going before me. And he is with me on this journey like he has been on all other journies in the past.

He turned around seemingly impossible circumstances. Numerous times. And very recently. Today in fact. Absolute miracles and blessings.

Yet I am so quick to forget. Not unlike the children of Isreal in the desert. I suppose it is a longstanding tendancy of us humans.

So it was to this matter that the post spoke.

So thanks.

God Bless.

Hi Chaz. I'm always delighted and humbled in equal measure when the Lord speaks to someone across thousands of miles through something I have written. I'm praying that you will know the deep peace of Christ in your heart through your time of change. God bless. Neil.

Thanks Neil....

I am in the process of a career change. Keeping a positive perspective is essential.

God has shown me time and again that he has walked before me and prepared a way. So that I need only obey and be vigilant in what responsibilities he has given me in the task.... and to not be anxious and fearful.

I can only imagine how fear and anxiety must have wanted to creep in when the Children of Isreal walked through whatever parting God made for them in the Red sea.

Yet he always was there for them to guide them. Even when they messed up. And they messed up a lot in their journey out of Egypt.... no?

Anyway... today's post was particularly meaningful.... so thanks.

Ciao.

Mary, thank you so much for that. I have to confess that I'd not heard of Chris Rice, nor had I come across the lyrics of the song that you have kindy set out in your response. They are wonderfully appropriate to my post.

Blessings to you too,
